“The cylinder of light defined by the oculus at the apex of the Pantheon, is seen as one of the greatest Roman triumphs in architecture. The oculus has served for many years, in architecture, as the eye that permits light to the architectural form. This concept in turn, motivated a small architectural study that I investigated during a recent tour around Italy, where the circular geometry was utilised as an architectural viewfinder.”
